Child ready to administer First AidKids First Aid Event: March 1

Calling All Young Heroes! Is your child ready to level up their confidence and emergency readiness? The Evanston Fire Department is hosting a Kids First Aid Event on Sunday, March 1st! Sessions at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., and 1 p.m. Children will be split up by the following age groups: 1st/2nd grade, 3rd/4th/5th grade, and 6th/7th/8th grade. 

Your child will:

  • Build their own first-aid kit
  • Learn essential first-aid skills
  • Master hands-only CPR basics

Spaces fill up fast, so sign up your future hero today! 1st through 8th graders are welcome. The $20 fee covers the cost of supplies. Register now

 

CERT members putting out fireCERT Spring Session: March 5 - April 30 

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a group of Evanston volunteers who assist the Office of Emergency Management in times of need. In the event of a serious man-made or natural disaster, the Office of Emergency Management may call upon CERT Volunteers to assist in the response. The spring session for CERT training will take place on Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to  9 p.m. The session is Free and is eligible for ages 17 and up. The approximately 20-hour training will include classroom instruction and hands-on lessons. Registration is now open for Spring 2026.
