Dog Beach Passes Available Beginning February 16
The 2026 Dog Beach season officially begins on Monday, March 2. The Dog Beach, located just south of Clark Street Beach (1811 Sheridan Rd.), is open seasonally from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week. All patrons must have a valid dog beach pass to enter.
Purchasing a Dog Beach Pass
Dog beach passes will be available in person beginning Monday, February 16, on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the following locations:
- Levy Senior Center, 300 Dodge Ave.
- Evanston Ecology Center, 2024 McCormick Blvd.
- Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center, 1655 Foster St.
- Chandler-Newberger Community Center, 1028 Central St.
- Prieto Community Center, 430 Asbury Ave.
- Robert Crown Community Center, 1801 Main St. (Dog beach passes available from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily at Robert Crown only)
Dog beach passes are free for residents (60201 and 60202 only), and are $200 (1st dog) and $75 (2nd dog) for non-residents. Individuals will need to bring a completed City of Evanston Dog Beach Application form, signed by a veterinarian.
Effective Monday, March 2, the gate code will be updated to a new combination number. Dog beachgoers should note that the old 2025 combination number will no longer grant access through the gate, and access will not be possible until the 2026 pass is renewed. Patrons are required to wear a breakaway lanyard and current pass while at the Dog Beach.
Dog Beach Pass holders will also have access to the Grey Park Dog Park once construction is complete and the park opens, currently expected in 2026. One pass will allow users access to both locations.
Requirements
Cook County ordinance requires the City to verify vaccination information and municipal pet licenses before issuing a dog beach pass.
