Project Summary

This project includes the preliminary design of long-term capital improvements along the City of Evanston - owned shoreline for the purposes of preventing loss of land due to erosion and protection of public infrastructure. In 2020, the City completed emergency Lakefront Stabilization work at Elliot Park, Garden Park and Greenwood and Dempster Street Beaches.

Lakefront Survey

The City of Evanston is beginning initial design work on a project to improve the immediate shoreline at a number of lakefront parks in response to recent high lake levels and the resulting damage and emergency measures put in place to protect these important properties. The engagement process started with a public survey to better understand park and beach uses and needs. Thank you to everyone who completed the survey! Survey results are available below.
