Registered voters do not need a government-issued photo ID to vote early in Illinois. Bringing one is still recommended, since it can speed up check-in and help resolve any questions about a voter's registration, address, or signature.
The deadline to register online is October 18. Residents can also register or update their address in person during early voting. They must bring two forms of identification, at least one showing their current address; neither needs to be a photo ID. Residents who register at an early voting site must vote at the same visit.
Early voting sites use touch-screen equipment loaded with every ballot style in the county, so any suburban Cook County voter can cast a ballot at any early voting location. This makes it easy for people who live elsewhere in suburban Cook County but work in Evanston to vote near their workplace.
A full list of locations and hours is available on the Cook County Clerk's early voting page.
