Evanston to Honor Longtime Local Businesses at Annual Legacy Business Celebration

From the barber chair to the bagel counter, the businesses that have shaped Evanston for generations will take center stage next week at the annual Legacy Business Celebration.

The event, honoring the City's designated Legacy Businesses, will be held Thursday, Oct. 15, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Evanston History Center. Drinks and refreshments will be provided.

While the celebration is closed to the public, community members who want to support Evanston's longtime local businesses can attend by donating to the Legacy Business Alliance. Sponsors who contribute $250 will receive two tickets to the celebration.

The evening is a chance to recognize the shops, restaurants, studios, and service providers that have become fixtures of Evanston's neighborhoods, and the owners and employees who have kept them running through decades of change.
