City Provides Update on Proposed Computer Processing Center at 1265 Hartrey

The City of Evanston Community Development staff has completed an initial review of the submitted materials for a proposed computer processing center located at 1265 Hartrey. Following this preliminary evaluation, staff has determined that the proposed facility does not currently appear to qualify as a listed permitted or special use under the city's existing regulations.

Due to the limited nature of the original application submitted on September 16, city staff has formally requested additional information from the applicant. Pending the receipt and review of this additional information, staff believes at this time that a text amendment to the city code would be necessary before this type of use could be established. Staff will make a brief official statement about the proposed development and these initial findings during the City Manager announcements portion of the upcoming Monday City Council meeting.
