City Launches "Legacy Business Bounce Back" Promotion to Support Local Legacy Businesses

The City's Economic Development Division has announced the Legacy Business Bounce Back Promotion, a September initiative designed to drive support for the city's Legacy businesses.

Throughout September, any Evanston resident or visitor who spends $250 or more at businesses that are members of the Evanston Legacy Business Alliance will be eligible to receive a $50 Evanston Gift Card.

To participate, shoppers should:

1. Spend $250 or more at one or more Legacy businesses during September.

2. Complete the online form at cityofevanston.org/bounceback.

3. Upload copies of receipts totaling $250 or more (a QR code is also available for quick receipt upload).

A full directory of participating Legacy businesses is available at evanstonlegacybusiness.com.

"This promotion is our way of thanking the community for supporting the small and long-standing businesses that give Evanston its character," said Katie Boden, Economic Development Coordinator. "Every dollar spent locally helps these businesses continue to thrive."

Spending locally has a direct and lasting impact on Evanston's economy. Dollars spent at locally owned businesses tend to recirculate within the community at a far higher rate than spending at national chains, as local owners are more likely to hire local staff, purchase from other area businesses, and reinvest in their storefronts.
