Evanston’s Water Production Bureau Earns Gold-Level Water Ambassador Award

The City is proud to announce that Evanston’s Water Production Bureau has been awarded the Water Ambassador Award at the Gold level by the Illinois Section American Water Works Association (ISAWWA).

This award recognizes water utilities that demonstrate excellence in public outreach, education, and communication to enhance public understanding and trust in the water industry. The City achieved the Gold level, the program’s highest tier. It reflects the department’s strong commitment to transparent, consistent, and engaging communication with the community.

“I am proud of the work our Water Production Bureau staff does every day. We are fortunate to have employees who are deeply committed and truly invested in their roles", said Water Production Bureau Chief Darrell King. “This award reflects the team’s dedication to keeping the public informed and advancing meaningful education about our water system and operations”, he added.
