Looking for the perfect outdoor space for your next gathering? Reserve a picnic area or host a campfire at the Lighthouse Beach Fire Circle. Permits are available online for easy planning.

Picnic Reservation Permits

Evanston Parks and Recreation offers a variety of picnic tables and shelters located throughout Evanston parks. Amenities may include scenic views of Lake Michigan, nearby playgrounds, tennis courts, athletic fields, and more.

Note: Picnic areas will be visible on March 1.

Availability:

The permitted season runs from April 15 through November 15. Permits are available daily between 9:00 am and 9:00 pm, and a minimum reservation of two hours is required.

Reservations may be made online up to four months in advance.

Lighthouse Beach Fire Circle Reservation Permits

The Lighthouse Beach Fire Circle features a fire pit with seating for up to 30 guests and convenient access to nearby restrooms. Guests may also enjoy the playground and beach, though beach admission is not included. The Fire Circle is located near Lighthouse Beach on Sheridan Road at Central Street.

Please bring your own firewood, as it is not provided.

Please note that the Northwestern Bonfire Ring is administered by Northwestern University. The City of Evanston Parks and Recreation does not manage or take reservations for Northwestern’s fire ring.

Availability:

The permitted season runs from April 15 through November 15. Permits are available daily in two six-hour time blocks, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm time slot.
