YWCA Evanston/North Shore

The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. The YWCA Activity Building is completely handicapped accessible. Currently, the Shelter’s front porch is equipped with a chair lift that allows women with disabilities to access the Shelter’s front door without using the stairs. The YWCA maintains a strong presence in the community and comes together with a wide array of community agencies and service providers on a regular and frequent basis to share information about their services and programs, discuss community service issues and develop ways of working together to better meet the needs of their clients. Complementing the YWCA Evanston/North Shore Domestic Violence Services is a Legal Services component positioned at the Cook County Second Municipal District Courthouse in Skokie, Illinois.
