A permit is required prior to the installation or modification of all fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, standpipe systems, fire alarm and detection systems, or kitchen hood suppression systems.

A permit issued by the City of Evanston Building Department does not include the scope of these systems; a separate permit will be issued for each of these systems. A Fire Alarm/Suppression Application must be filled out and submitted along with three (3) sets of plans and one (1) set of documents. Completed forms should be emailed to: efdplanreview@cityofevanston.org.
