Required by any beekeeper upon bringing any colony into the city and must be renewed each year.

TERM: One year from the data of issuance.

FEE: Per application. $25

RENEWABLE: Yes. Applicant to submit renewal application and documentation no more than 2 weeks prior to the anniversary date of the current beekeeping license.

TRANSFERABLE: No.

  • Please include the following with your application:
    Intent to Keep Bees Form
  • Drawing indicating the location of the apiary(s) on your property.  Apiaries located on a balcony, deck or roof may require structural review and approval by the building department.

Please Note: Upon receipt of  the INTENT TO KEEP BEES ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNER NOTIFICATION FORM from the applicant, any adjacent property owner may file a written objection to the applicant’s license application. In order to object, the adjacent property owner must file, within 30 days’ receipt of notice, a written objection with the Director of the Health and Human Services Department. The authority to rule on an objection to a license application rests with the City’s Human Services Committee. Refer to City Ordinance 36-O-16 for details.
