What is the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)?

The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) aims to support state, local, territorial and Tribal governments by providing resources to:

  • Respond to the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Address its economic fallout
  • Lay the foundation for a strong and equitable recovery

The City of Evanston received approximately $43 million in Federal American Rescue Plan Act funding. In order to identify how to spend the funds, the City began by hosting three town hall meetings in coordination with community partners, Evanston Cradle to Career, Evanston Community Foundation, Evanston Early Childhood Council, Northwestern University and Evanston Latinos. The videos from these meetings are listed below.
