The City of Evanston Public Works Agency is responsible for providing numerous services to Evanston community members. The Public Works Agency is made up of three bureaus that focus on key areas within the City's operations.
Bureaus
- Public Services
- Responsible for the maintenance of City streets, alleys, and sidewalks
- Responsible for forestry, refuse, recycling, and the maintenance of our greenways and parks throughout the City
- Capital Planning and Engineering
- Responsible for citywide capital planning, capital projects and engineering
- Water Production
- Responsible for the operation of the Evanston Water Treatment Plant
- Responsible for the maintenance of City water and sewer infrastructures.

- contains information related to different educational programs and outreach initiatives originating from public works including: Alternative Stormwater Management, Evanston Water & Sewer Service, Emerald Ash Borer, Recycling Do's and Don'ts, Wholesale Water Sales and more.

- includes the plans that public works develops or relies on to implement its services and programs including: Water & Sewer Annual Reports, Consumer Confidence Report, Plans, Reports & Brochures and more.
- Policies
- contains the internal and external policies that public works looks to for guidance in service delivery and project development including: Cross Connection Control, Utility Financial Assistance Programs, Shopping Bag Ordinance, Commercial and Business Services and more.
- Engineering & Construction
- includes projects for streets, water main, sewer, transportation, parks, buildings and water treatment & storage including: Neighborhood Infrastructure Improvement Programs, CIP Project Information, Sidewalk Improvement Program, Alley Improvements, and more.
