Overview
In 2021, NorthShore University HealthSystem committed to accelerating Opportunity, Inclusion, and Health Equity by creating new opportunities for personal, professional, and economic growth across their communities. With the financial collaboration of The City of Evanston and The Finnegan Family Foundation, the ASPIRE Program commenced.
In the program’s first two years over 100 high school students and recent graduates were given the opportunity to shadow during their spring break or gain hands-on experience during their summer internship. Here is how the program has grown over time:

ASPIRE offers various opportunities for its program participants to excel in their progression towards a career in healthcare. From internships to employment preparation, ASPIRE actively works to cultivate the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Program Offerings
Paid Internships - Gain hands-on knowledge in your career interest area with a summer internship.
Credential Attainment - Earn the proper certification needed to market your employable skills at our partnering institution, Oakton College. You may be eligible for an ASPIRE scholarship upon enrollment.
Employment Opportunities - Get a jumpstart to your career as a Endeavor Health Team Member.
Community Partners
Actively working to reduce workforce barriers through acquiring greater social and economic equity in the Healthcare Industry, ASPIRE Evanston invests primarily in under-resourced students and young adults within our community and provides them with opportunities to explore careers in healthcare.
