Permit Applications
A permit is required prior to the installation or modification of all fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, standpipe systems, fire alarm and detection systems, or kitchen hood suppression systems. A permit issued by the City of Evanston Building Department does not include the scope of these systems; a separate permit will be issued for each of these systems. A Fire Alarm/Suppression Application must be filled out and submitted along with three (3) sets of plans and one (1) set of documents. Click on the following for an application:
Backflow Preventer Permits
Any work that requires the installation or modification of a backflow preventer will require a separate CCCD permit. One (1) additional set of plans and documents shall be submitted along with a separate permit application. A CCCD Permit Application should be filled out that includes information on the plumbing contractor. Any contractor performing work on the backflow preventer must have a C3 Contractor License obtained through the Utilities Department.
