The Administration provides the leadership in coordinating efforts to ensure efficient and effective services to the public. Management policies are developed and instituted to improve all fire and life safety services as well as coordinating interactions with other City Departments. An annual budget is prepared and administered. Operating procedures are evaluated and upgraded when necessary to improve services and to keep pace with changing conditions and technology.

This facility achieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification at the GOLD level under the NEW CONSTRUCTION rating system. This is the first fire station with LEED certification in Illinois. At the time of certification, there were only 10 other fire stations with LEED GOLD certification in the U.S.A.
