DCEO Funding Opportunity
Background
The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (the “Department” or “DCEO”)issued a Notice of Funding Opportunity (“NOFO”) to solicit applications for Business Resiliency program funded by the federal Community Development Block Grant-Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) Funds through the State of Illinois’ Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, Office of Community Development. The objective of this program is to fund construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation, or acquisition of property for Homeless Shelters dedicated to the provision of stable, safe and adequate housing; with a goal of increasing capacity to pre-COVID levels.
The City of Evanston is looking to apply for $2,000,000 in CDBG-CV funding for the renovation of a 30-bed year round, fixed site shelter located at 1458 Chicago Avenue (Hilda's Place) to prevent and respond to Coronavirus.
