PURPOSE: The Board maintains, equips, and operates the City's playgrounds and recreation centers and the buildings thereon, pursuant to 65 ILCS 5/11-95-2. The Board also recommends appropriate names for public places and implements the Honorary Street Name Sign Program. (Ord. No. 81-O-16 , § 2, 7-25-2016, eff. 1-1-2017)

MEMBERS: 9 members appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council.

TERM: 5 years - If a vacancy occurs, the Mayor with City Council shall appoint a successor to serve for the unexpired term of the departing member.

MEETING DATE: 3rd Thursday of each month, 6:00 p.m.  No meeting in August.
