The Administrative Services Department serves both the residents and visitors to the City of Evanston, as well as the internal departments that keep the City operating to its full capacity. The Department is made up of three (3) divisions: Information Technology, Facilities & Fleet Management, and Parking.

Information Technology

The Information Technology Division (IT) meets the business and technology needs of the City by managing and servicing hardware/infrastructure, application development and support, telecommunication, training, and project management. The division also has a dedicated digital service and GIS team. More information can be found here.

Facilities & Fleet Management

The Fleet and Facilities Division oversees and maintains the City’s many assets including equipment, vehicles and buildings. There are over 500 pieces of City equipment including specialized vehicles such as police cars, fire apparatuses, recreation watercraft, and construction and forestry trucks along with the many attachments that go along with them. In 2018, Fleet Management was named one of the "100 Best Fleets in the Americas" due to their collective efforts and new ideas.  Fleet Management guides and supports City staff's specific needs, vehicle replacement, proper use, repair, maintenance, and operations of all City vehicles.  Facilities Management oversees the use, operation, repairs, maintenance and improvements of all City buildings, including but not limited to the Civic Center, Service Center, Police and Fire Departments/stations as well as the 7 major recreation centers and other City assets. More information regarding Facilities and Fleet Management (FFM) can be found here

Parking

The Parking Service Division is responsible for the operation and management of the 3 downtown garages owned by the City, as well as managing and maintaining on-street and surface lot paid parking spaces, including the equipment and the ParkEvanston app.  Parking also issues monthly parking permits, as well as disabled persons’ reserved parking spaces.  More information can be found here.
