In honor of America Recycles Day on November 15, the City, in partnership with District 65, hosted a Recycling Wrap Competition. Middle schoolers were invited to submit their original artwork, depicting the dangers of putting batteries in recycling bins. 

The City received *many unique artwork submissions and is now asking community members to vote for their favorite design. The winning design will adorn a City of Evanston recycling truck. Community voting will be available through Thursday, November 14.

*There were a few student submissions that were aimed at inspiring battery recycling, conflicting with the City's messaging which asks folks to keep batteries out of single-stream recycling due to them being hazardous. These entries were excluded from voting to avoid confusion, though the City values the students' creativity and commitment to safe recycling. View those submitted designs.
