The Downtown Evanston Farmers' Market is celebrating its 43rd year! The market will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through Nov. 3 at the intersection of University Place and Oak Ave (behind Hilton Garden Inn, east of East Railroad Ave.).
The market has a festive atmosphere and is a real crowd-pleaser. As many as 58 vendors sell a wide variety of goods each week, including fruits, vegetables, meat, flowers, cheese, eggs, and baked goods. Visitors are encouraged to arrive to the market hungry, as food will be sold on site. LINK cards are accepted. Again this year, LINK customers will be able to receive a match of up to $25 per Saturday.
There's plenty of fun for kids! The Spud Club offers free, fun activities for children ages 2 to 10 years old.
Parking is free in the adjacent 1800 Maple Avenue Self Park Garage with ticket validation at the City of Evanston tent. Live animals and pets, other than service animals, are not allowed at the farmers' market.
Protect your identity and the environment with a free FB&T community shredding event! You are invited to bring up to two boxes or four shopping bags of paper documents (max 25lbs). Materials should be placed in paper bags (not plastic) or boxes/containers that will be returned to the owner. The shredding events will be on May 12, July 14 and October 13 on the east side of the market.
