Since World War II, the world has become healthier, more prosperous, and more peaceful than at any time in history. Yet sustaining this "long peace" is no easy task - as recent political, social and economic upheavals have shown.
Please join Rotary International on Tuesday, April 10 to explore Sustaining the Long Peace, with Rotary peace fellows and UChicago’s Harris Public Policy alumni who will share their stories in TEDx style presentations in the final event of a three-part series on discussions around peace and conflict.
Rotary Peace Fellows Susan Stigant, Director of Africa Programs at the U.S. Institute of Peace, and Abdi Ahmed, who has created innovative programs to integrate refugees in Canada, will share their insights into what makes peace possible.
And, Harris Public Policy Alumni speakers Kristen Hajduk, Counterterrorism Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and Hafsah Lak, instrumental in the creation of a first-of-its-kind Violence Against Women Center in Pakistan, will talk about applying their academic work to the world at large.
Please RSVP and join Rotary for stimulating and inspiring discussion!
