Evanston residents interested in employment and apprenticeship opportunities on citywide construction projects are invited to attend the Workforce Development Program's open call for job candidates on Saturday, June 4, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will be held in the Parasol Room on the fourth floor of the Morton Civic Center, located at 2100 Ridge Ave., in Evanston.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED. Attendees must bring:
Proof of Evanston residency (Zip codes 60201 or 60202 only). This may include a piece of mail received at the candidate's place of residence within the past 60 days, such as a utility bill or cable bill. Current resume. Only residents with a current copy of their resume will be considered for open positions. Valid photo identification. This includes a driver's license or ID card issued by the state with a valid future expiration date. Other forms of acceptable supplemental ID include voter's registration card, union card, flagger certification card, or any form of formal construction training card. Union-affiliated workers must also bring a copy of their union card and specific industry certifications.
