Natural Habitat Evanston May Day Celebration
Celebrate May Day with an afternoon filled with demonstrations and hands-on activities designed to help you cultivate a garden that is welcoming for birds, bees, and butterflies! At the Evanston Ecology Center, 2024 McCormick Blvd, Evanston. All ages are welcome.?
Highlights:
? Suzanne Malec-McKenna, Executive Director, Chicago Wilderness, will kick off the event
? Demonstrations and hands-on activities will help you learn how to provide key elements of a ?wildlife-friendly garden: food, shelter, places to raise young, and water
? Help plant 300+ saplings of bird-friendly shrubs in the Ladd Arboretum
? Free bird-friendly shrub saplings for the first 50 people to arrive. ?Come ready to get your hands in the dirt! Even if your garden is a street corner, balcony, or a corner of your vegetable plot, this event is for you.
