Watershed Learning

ClarkStBeach_544pxOn Saturday, March 10, from 10 a.m. to noon, join an adult learning community for "Lakefront Learning" to study water, a defining feature of our geography and of our social, economic, political, cultural and spiritual lives.

This month's session is Stewardship and Citizen Science. Evanston citizens are active all around town, creating or restoring our growing number of natural habitat sites such as Clark Street Beach Bird Sanctuary, the North Shore Channel and Perkins Woods. Come learn about the work being done and how you can get involved. Facilitators include local naturalists Judy Pollock, bird conservationist; Wendy Pollock, TreeKeeper and Libby Hill, author and steward of Perkins Woods.

Each free Watershed Learning workshop includes a short talk, discussion, hands-on activity and tea. No registration is necessary – just drop by. Workshops take place at the Arrington Lakefront Lagoon Shelter, Sheridan Road at Church Street, on select Saturdays:

March 10 - Stewardship and Citizen Science
April 14 - Watershed Spirituality and Environmental Justice
May 12 - Biking tour of Evanston Green Infrastructure

Email Clare Tallon Ruen at clare@lakedance.org with questions or for more information.
