Watershed Learning

ClarkStBeach_544pxOn Saturday, January 13, from 10 a.m. to noon, join an adult learning community for "Lakefront Learning" to study water, a defining feature of our geography and of our social, economic, political, cultural and spiritual lives.

This session will discuss Chicago’s Water Intake Cribs, 1850 to the present: How did they get there? What do they do? What is their future? Join Bob Ward, third generation steward of Chicago’s Water Intake Cribs, as he unravels the long history and focuses in on the years 1942-1977.

Each free Watershed Learning workshop includes a short talk, discussion, hands-on activity and tea. No registration is necessary – just drop by. Workshops take place at the Arrington Lakefront Lagoon Shelter, Sheridan Road at Church Street, on select Saturdays:

January 13 - Water Intake Cribs
February 10 - IL/IN Seagrant: Pollution
March 10 - Stewardship and Citizen Science
April 14 - Watershed Spirituality and Environmental Justice
May 12 - Biking tour of Evanston Green Infrastructure
