Dental Access Days

Dental Access Days is a Chicago-area 501C3 organization whose mission is to extend dental care to people in poverty and the mentally disadvantaged. A nine-chair clinic will be staged for two days, staffed by local area professionals, using mobile equipment in a temporary setting at the Levy Senior Center, 300 Dodge Ave.:

Friday, November 3, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday, November 4, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Services for Dental Access Days are dispensed on a first-come, first-served basis. Numbers are handed out at the beginning of the clinic day and, with occasional exceptions, dentists work through those numbers in sequence. There are no charges or need assessments. Services provided include cleanings, restorations and extractions. The focus is primarily on providing dentistry for adults. The event does not staff pediatric dentists. No dentures or denture repairs will be offered.

Dental Access Days equipment is provided by the Giving Hand Foundation from Yadkinville, North Carolina. Funding comes from Northfield Community Church, the Saint Peter Legacy in Mission Fund, and Glenview Community Church. Local dental supply firms support the effort by donating materials and supplies. These include: Heraeus Kulzer, Komet USA, Ivoclar Vivadent, Midway Dental, and Nordent. The City of Evanston's Health & Human Services Department helps coordinate local
agencies for the poor to insure the people of most need are aware of the clinic and get served.
