Neighborhood Paddle on the North Shore Channel

UPDATE: This program is now full.

5th Ward Ald. Robin Rue Simmons and Friends of the Chicago River invite members of the Evanston community for a special paddle on the North Shore Channel on Wednesday, August 30, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

This summer, with the help of many Evanston volunteers and community groups, Friends of the Chicago River successfully completed a large-scale planting project on the Channel. In addition to the Friends of the Chicago River project, there are numerous other organizations working together to improve the river’s health and restore the natural beauty of the area, making it a unique urban wildlife corridor.

Friends and Ald. Rue Simmons will take guests on a guided paddle along this special stretch of the river. Paddling experience is not necessary.

Wednesday, August 30, 2017
3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Meet at Dammrich Rowing Center, 3220 Oakton St, Skokie

Space is limited. To reserve spots, RSVP to Friends’ Director of Strategic Initiatives Joanne So Young Dill at jdill@chicagoriver.org no later than noon on Tuesday, August 29.
