A ribbon cutting ceremony for the Twiggs Park basketball court will be held on Monday, July 17, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Twiggs Park is located at Dodge Avenue and Simpson Street in Evanston. The basketball court is located in the northeast section of the park.

Thanks to a partnership with Dynegy Inc., Northwestern University (NU), Northwestern Athletics, and the City of Evanston, the basketball court was renovated this summer at no cost to the City. 

Attendees at the ribbon cutting will include Northwestern University Vice President for Athletics & Recreation Jim Phillips, NU Men's Basketball Head Coach Chris Collins, 5th Ward Alderman Robin Rue Simmons and student-athletes from NU Men’s and Women’s basketball teams. Following the ceremony, children participating in Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center’s summer camp will take part in basketball activities with the student-athletes.
