A short ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2017, to decommission the Memorial located in Fountain Square in advance of construction to redesign Fountain Square Plaza and Sherman and Orrington Avenues between Church Street and Grove Street.
A simple ceremony will open with a reflection and will be followed by a reading of the names on the plaques of local service members killed in action. The ceremony will end with the playing of taps.
This event is being organized by American Legion Post 42 and Tech Sgt. William Snell VFW Post 7186.
