Evanston History Center’s Mother’s Day House Walk

The Mother’s Day House Walk is back, offering up close visits to five unique homes nestled in Evanston’s esteemed Lake Shore Historic District. All five have been carefully chosen for their architectural significance, rich histories, and interesting interior features.

Scheduled for Sunday, May 12, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., this cherished tradition will commence at the Evanston History Center, housed within the landmark Charles Dawes House at 225 Greenwood. Attendees can collect their tickets for the 2024 House Walk on the day of the event beginning at 10 a.m. at the History Center.

Celebrating its 49th year, the Mother’s Day House Walk is a beloved tradition on the North Shore, drawing hundreds of families back year after year to explore different neighborhoods and home styles as part of their Mother’s Day festivities. This year the tour ranges from an exemplary prairie-style home to one of Evanston's oldest residences.

Tickets for the 49th Annual Mother’s Day House Walk are available for purchase online.
