The Preservation Ordinance empowers the Commission to identify, register, and safeguard the City’s historic, social, and cultural heritage. The Commission encourages public participation and affords due process through public hearings on proposed designations as well as reviewing and making determinations on applications for certificates of appropriateness, economic hardship, and special merit.
