Webinar: Building Electrification – An Opportunity to Decrease Evanston’s Climate Impact

  • Date: 05/18/2022 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM

The Evanston City Council approved the Climate Action and Resilience Plan (CARP) in December 2018, which calls for carbon neutrality by 2050. In April 2022, the Evanston City Council passed a resolution declaring a climate emergency. A key opportunity is beneficial electrification of building systems, in large part by using heat pumps to displace natural gas heating.

Join us for a webinar on  Wed., May 18 at noon to learn how the City of Ithaca, New York and BlocPowerTM are collaborating to electrify heating systems in buildings throughout that city. In doing so, they created a novel opportunity to positively impact GHG emissions, resident health, and homeowner finances. The development process incorporated community engagement, climate justice, and workforce development.

Register to attend.
