"The Adventure of the Speckled Band," published in 1892, is the eighth Sherlock Holmes short story, and the tenth Holmes story overall, by British author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It is a classic locked room mystery that deals with the themes of parental greed, inheritance and freedom. The author considered it his best work.
