The City of Evanston is currently exploring and developing a benchmarking ordinance that will require certain buildings to track and disclose their energy and water consumption. It is designed to promote resource conservation and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. City staff invites the public to learn more about the initiative and comment on the ordinance draft by attending an open session. All sessions will be held on the second floor of the Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave. in Room 2404. Feedback can also be submitted using the Public Comment Form. Comments submitted through the form will be reviewed once the public comment period has ended on July 15. Learn more about the ordinance at cityofevanston.org/benchmarking.
