National Able Network (NAN) and the Continuing Education division at Oakton Community College have partnered to offer a special screening event for Oakton's July 2016 Truck Driver training course. The one-day required screening event will convene July 13, 2016 from 9 a.m. ' 12 p.m. at the Skokie Campus. Through this event, individuals will learn about the trucking industry, the eight-week training program, employers who are looking to hire qualified graduates, and apply for funding, all in one day! Individuals must have a valid driver's license and be 21 years or older. Oakton has a great comprehensive training program that will not only prepare students to earn their CDL, but also prepare students for the job search. With employer connections like Schneider National, Roehl, and Prime Line, and more than 22,000 jobs listed in Cook County, qualified graduates of the eight-week training program have a good chance of obtaining employment within months of graduating and can expect to earn a starting salary of $35,000 to $70,000 annually.
