The Evanston Police Department will host an amnesty gun buyback event at Christ Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 1711 Simpson St., on Saturday, December 5, from noon to 4 p.m. $100 per gun will be provided. This is an amnesty-based program; there will be no arrests.

All participants must wear a face covering and practice social distancing. Participants must be residents of Evanston, Skokie or the north side of Chicago. Guns must be unloaded and operational. Weapons should be transported in a case, box, bag, or other supporting item, or in the trunk of a car. This is a first-come, first-served program.
