The City of Evanston’s Health & Human Services Department is once again partnering with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) to host a temporary COVID-19 testing site at Evanston Township High School (ETHS), October 26 and 27.
Testing will take place daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the ETHS parking lot located east of Dodge Avenue and north of Lake Street. Both drive-through and walk-up testing will be available. Drivers should enter the testing site from northbound Dodge Avenue at the parking lot's south entrance. Walk-up testing will be available at the north end of the parking lot. In addition:
- Testing is open to all Evanston residents, regardless of symptoms.
- There is no cost to be tested.
- Residents should bring their insurance card, but will still be tested even without insurance.
- Simple nasal swabs will be used for testing.
- Those tested will be called with their test results in four to seven days.
The City’s Health & Human Services Department continues to recommend testing for asymptomatic contacts of COVID-19 cases as well as those with potential exposure to COVID-19. In order to slow the spread of the virus, the quick identification of cases via testing is a vital step to conduct thorough and effective contact tracing.
