Join Open House Chicago 2020 community partner Design Evanston for a look at its new book, "Evanston’s Design Heritage," featuring 127 notable architects, designers, landscape architects and planners who lived or worked in the suburb since its founding in 1863.
From the mid-1800s to the current day, Evanston’s designers have both shaped their own community and contributed to the world of design far beyond its borders. The great range of these designers includes the architect behind the World’s Fair of 1893, the first woman to graduate from the University of Michigan as an architect and the designer of the beloved View-Master toy, among others.
Hear more from the seven Design Evanston members who served as contributing authors of "Evanston's Design Heritage" during this engaging book talk.
This program will be hosted on Zoom as a part of Open House Chicago's virtual programming this year.
