Police and Firefighters Remembrance Ceremony
The Evanston Fire and Police Departments, along with the Evanston Firefighters Association Local 742 (EFFA), will hold a remembrance ceremony on Friday, July 22, at 2 p.m., to honor the lives of fallen department firefighters Marty Leoni, William Craig and George Stiles.
This ceremony will include a badge presentation by EFFA Local 742 to the families of these fallen members. The ceremony will also acknowledge other firefighters and police officers who have given their lives in the line of duty. The public is encouraged to attend.

2:05 p.m. ' Introductions, Fire Chief Greg Klaiber
2:10 p.m. ' Invocation, Fire Chaplain David Jones
2:15 p.m. ' Mayor Elizabeth Tisdahl
2:20 p.m. ' Fire Chief Greg Klaiber
2:25 p.m. ' Moment of Silence (Dispatch time of fire at 1927 Jackson Avenue, where FF/PM Marty Leoni made the ultimate sacrifice)
2:30 p.m. ' Captain Matthew Smith
2:35 p.m. ' Police and Fire Honor Guards, Bell Ceremony
2:40 p.m. ' Presentation of Badges to Fallen Firefighters' Families by Fire Chief Greg Klaiber, Captain Matthew Smith, and Retired Division Chief Ron Gannon
3:00 p.m. ' Police and Fire Honor Guards, Retrieval of Colors
Refreshments (catering by Hecky's Barbecue) will take place following the ceremony.
