The City is partnering with Cook County, the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) and the Citizens' Utility Board (CUB) to provide a bulk solar purchasing opportunity for Evanston residents and residents throughout the region. A similar program was run in 2019 and over 20 Evanston residents participated and had solar installed on their properties.
A solar array on your property can help, providing a reliable investment with long-term bill savings. To help educate about solar and bring down the price,
Solarize Chicagoland is back after a successful pilot program last year. And while the look and feel of our solar education is changing (webinars!), we are excited to offer this program to the Chicagoland area again!
What: A group-buy program that makes solar easier and more affordable
Why: Lower electric bills, cleaner energy, healthier communities
Who/Where: Property owners in Cook, Will, DuPage, and Kane Counties
Last year we helped 126 property owners install 879 kilowatts of solar in the Chicagoland area. We also helped over 1,200 Chicagoians learn about solar power at our Solar Power Hours!
The more people who go solar, the lower the price for all. Join us on a webinar to learn how going solar can lower your monthly bills.
If you've already attended a Solar Power Hour (last year, for example), your next step is to schedule your site assessment and send your last 12 months of electricity usage to Windfree Solar. Your initial point of contact there is Adam, and he can be reached at
adam@windfree.us.
Did you already go solar through Solarize Chicagoland? Then you know how important it is to spread the word!
