Opening Artists' Reception
The Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes St., will be hosting an Opening Reception for its upcoming exhibition "Equality and Influence: Inspiring Women of Evanston, Past and Present." The reception will be held on Friday, August 26, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the 2nd Floor Gallery of the Arts Center. Both the reception and the exhibition is free and open to the public. Additional parking is available at the Morton Civic Center at 2100 Ridge Ave.
On August 26, 1920, American women were granted the right to vote through the 19th Amendment to the Constitution. From Women's Suffrage to the Women's Liberation Movement and the fight for equal pay that persists today, this exhibition draws from the long-fought battles of the past and present by honoring inspirational women in Evanston. Inequality and Influence showcases local community members who have made and still make positive contributions to Evanston life and culture.
