Tour the John Van Bergen residence designed in 1928 for James Irving. Despite advocacy efforts over several years, this late Prairie School house was destined for demolition, but with the assistance of Landmarks Illinois and spearheaded by preservation architect Chris Enck, the house was cut into three pieces and moved from its original lot in Wilmette to a new location in Evanston. Following moves in October 2014 and March 2015, the house has been reconnected, restored and upgraded.
