Rotary Club of Evanston Peace Festival
To encourage a more peaceable city, the Rotary Club of Evanston will bring together varied groups to exchange ideas and encourage sustained action during a weekend-long Peace Festival Sept. 23-25 in Evanston:
Friday, Sept 23: Young Professionals: 'Peace: What You Can Do'
5:30 ' 8:00 pm., One Rotary Center, 1560 Sherman Ave.
Saturday, Sept. 24: Sports Enthusiasts: 'Rotary Day at Northwestern'
11:00 am ' 2:00 pm: Tours of One Rotary Center, 1560 Sherman Ave.
6:30 pm: Kickoff at Ryan Field
Sunday, Sept. 25: Family Peace Festival: 'A More Peaceful Evanston'
12:00 ' 4:00 pm., Rotary Friendship Garden at McCormick Blvd. & Bridge St.
Evanston organizations - including downtown businesses, Northwestern Athletics and numerous community groups such as Restorative Justice Evanston, the YWCA, and Moran Center - will participate throughout the three-day Peace Festival.
