United Way Evanston Day of Caring
Community members are invited to have fun while helping various organizations throughout the city as part of the United Way Evanston Day of Caring on Saturday, October 1, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., or until projects are completed. The goal of the event is to bring together 300 volunteers to show their appreciation and give back to the Evanston community.
Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to visit VolunteerEvanston.com to sign up for one of the many projects available that day to assist Evanston organizations, including PEER Services, Y.O.U., Connections for the Homeless, and the City of Evanston. Available volunteer opportunities include donation sorting, a citywide park cleanup and more.
Before heading to their volunteer opportunities on October 1, all participants are invited to enjoy free food and beverages at a celebration event on the Walker Terrace at Northwestern University's Ryan Field, located at 1501 Central St., from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. All Evanston Day of Caring volunteers will be provided with a free goodie bag at the event.
The United Way Evanston Day of Caring is co-sponsored by the City of Evanston, United Way, Northwestern University, NorthShore University HealthSystem and First Bank & Trust.
