Public Art Workshop with Indira Freitas Johnson
Award winning artist Indira Freitas Johnson will explore the expanding field of public art. Johnson will use her own experience in creating public art in Evanston, Chicago and across the world to discuss the complexities and challenges involved with making a public work but also the incredible opportunity it offers to expand one's vision, grow one's skills and engage a diverse audience locally and nationally.
This workshop is an introduction to the field of Public Art and will include:
' Where to find opportunities.
' Types of public art projects- temporary and permanent
' Ways to secure funding and other resources,
' Request for Qualifications (RFQ) vs. Request for Proposals (RFP)
' Collaborations in varied communities and cultures.
