Join Alderman Rue Simmons and the First Church of God for a Reparations Planning Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, December 11. This is a non-city sponsored event. Actor, Humanitarian and U.N Ambassador for Decade for People of African Descent Danny Glover will be the Keynote Presenter, with NAARC Commissioners Dr. Iva Carruthers, Kamm Howard, Nkechi Taifa and Evanston's own Judge Lionel Jean Baptiste serving as panelists, along with Alderman Simmons and Pastor Monte' L. G. Dillard, Sr.

Due to the popularity of this event and the limited capacity of the venue (750 people), this event is first come, first served. Those who RSVP'd are not guaranteed a place in the sanctuary. Guests will be allowed to enter the church beginning at 5 p.m. Please note that the church and sanctuary are handicap accessible.

Once the venue has reached capacity, no more guests will be able to enter the building. The event will be streamed live on the Ald. Robin Rue Simmons Facebook page, the Dear Evanston Facebook page, and a video will be produced and shared publicly following the Town Hall.

Via Rideshare has set up free rides for all attendees within Evanston. The app can be downloaded here: http://bit.ly/VIA_CHI. There is no promo code needed; new or existing riders can download the app, request a ride and go! The free rides will apply on Wednesday, December 11, from 6 p.m. to 11:59 p.m., to or from the First Church of God, 1524 Simpson St. The pickup and dropoff must be within Evanston.
