The Merion, in conjunction with the Evanston Symphony Orchestra, will host Musical Insights, a free lecture program open to the public with special guest violinist Alexandra Switala.
Ms. Switala will join Lawrence Eckerling, Music Director of the ESO, in a discussion/demonstration of Mozart's 'Turkish' Violin Concerto, which they will perform at the ESO concert on Sunday, October 30 at Pick-Staiger Concert Hall in Evanston. The Musical Insights presentation will also cover the other works on this 'Viennese Blockbusters' concert: the Coriolan Overture by Beethoven and the Ninth Symphony in C Major 'The Great' by Franz Schubert.
The program lasts about an hour and concludes with a question-and-answer session and free refreshments.
