The Evanston History Center (EHC) will host its annual Gala event, "A Night at the Blind Pig Speakeasy," on Saturday, August 24. At the event, guests can start out in the Temperance Tea Room for light non-alcoholic refreshments while they enjoy the view of the lake as the sun sets. Or, they can head right into the Speakeasy with their password to enjoy the sounds of the era with The Fat Babies jazz band, learn to dance early 20th century dances, and take advantage of a last drink before the History Center goes “dry” during EHC’s Prohibition commemoration.
Event tickets can be purchased online at evanstonhistorycenter.org or at the door. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older.
All event proceeds help the Evanston History Center continue its mission to collect, preserve and share the history of our community.
